Website

Our project aims to create a website about our activities, which will be a part of  Mars Society Deutschland main site (http://www.marssociety.de). The participants of the project will receive the VMC pictures of Mars and with the programs from Adobe Creative Suite they will edit these photos to make wallpapers and well-designed photos for the website. The information about each VMC photo will be presented in a special section of the website and a short story about Mars will be also introduced. The Science workshop section will contain impressions, descriptions of meetings and a feedback section for users who can comment about the evolution of the project. Last but not least, “kindergarten” section and “primary school” section will contain photos and descriptions for the kids.

Workshop products

Mainly, these products will serve as educational tools, that may later be judged as to whether the child has assimilated some basic notions or not. This will prove useful in improving the project further on, by understanding which notions are easier to comprehend for a child’s mind and even the general public. Further more, they will provide an artistic resource for other projects, such as our addition to the MDS website, by presenting mars in a “friendlier” way. The plaster model of Mars and maps will be displayed in Colegiul National and used in visits to primary schools or kindergartens.

Posters, Wallpapers

We are going to extend our project by developing also the artistic side. With the pictures of planet Mars that we will be receiving from Mars Express, we will try to valorize them by making a gallery of posters and wallpapers. They will be designed to be both eye-catching and convey information. These artistic works will be obtained by editing pictures of Mars with the help of image processing techniques. It is an opportunity to reveal some authentic photographs since it is a real mission of Mars Express.

Furthermore we will organize an exhibition with these posters and wallpapers within the “National College”. Moreover we will post them on the website; and also they will be useful for our workshops in order to form a true image of Mars to the children from primary schools or kindergartens.
